1.
Rain in these Moondrenched Eyes Wait for these twilight sighs to move Somewhere Down the Line And June's filled my boots with rain With tears on a silent train to you Moving down the line Mist falls down again This nightfall may never end Unless I keep moving down the line
2.
Driftwood 03:56
Picture a scene alone on a windy beach The skies are grey and the birds today are meek And you'll find me Torn at the seams Driftwood indeed Drifting to sea Gaze beneath the white winter ice A christalline, divine paradise Where you'll find me With salted lungs In a silence of tongues When the silence is young Search for me neath these browning leaves The fallen brethren of these haunted trees And you'll find me Fixed on the sun Desperately scared For winter to come
3.
Tulip Fever 03:39
4.
The night is young But Jane's undone She's been searching for sugar in the sun And David's there With his vacant stare Hoping that tonight will be the one All while shaded eyes Scan her lips down to her thighs Checking the temperature for fun Oh and when the evening drones She wails and she moans Like a hummingbird Who's lost all her words Searching for someplace to belong To be free in the breeze Like a convention of trees Drunk on sugar from the sun A lady fair In the summer air Naked to me now she's the one
5.
My head ain't right And the noose feels tight As clouds appear In the stratosphere Storm's ragin' on And my head's dead, it's gone Crimson tears Through my golden years A can of worms In the plainest terms Come, climb inside See what you'll find The names accrue In shades of blue A haunting way To brighter days

about

The simplest lessons are often among life’s most vital. For South London folk singer/songwriter Lando Manning, the creation of his latest EP Brighter Days was driven by the humble mantra that even during the bleakest of times, one must still believe that “things can only get better”, because often, they can. “I was in a really bad place when I wrote these songs and I was hoping that things would improve.”, Manning explains. ““there is light even in the dark parts of us; we only need to hold out for... Brighter Days.”

Written, recorded and produced entirely by Manning himself 2022 during an autumn retreat to Wiltshire in South West England, Brighter Days sees Manning delve deep into his psyche during his darkest moments to find the hopefulness shining through on the other side. If 2022’s debut EP Hip Shot reverberated with a brightened, psychedelic sheen and outwardly shone like a rising dawn, then this follow-up shuffles moodily like the dusk, hanging in the air like mist, as still and contemplative as Constable landscapes of gloomy British countrysides.
